Hearings under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll have been completed across all 13 Assembly constituencies in Thrissur district. The draft voters’ list, published on December 23, 2025, contained 24,02,432 voters.

Hearings were conducted for 1,95,350 voters whose details could not be directly or parentally linked with the 2002 SIR list, as well as for 1,62,771 voters for whom discrepancies were found while linking with the 2002 list.

To ensure voter convenience, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers held hearings at 535 centres across the district. The process was completed after verifying the authenticity of documents submitted by voters as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. Those who could not attend the hearings were given another opportunity, and provisions were also made for relatives to submit documents on behalf of voters who were unable to appear in person.

Following the hearings, a total of 3,030 voters were found ineligible for inclusion in the final electoral roll. Among them, 379 had passed away after the publication of the draft list, 117 had acquired citizenship of other countries, and 2,534 had permanently relocated.

Orders have been issued by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to remove these names from the final list. Those with objections to the decisions can file an appeal before the District Election Officer and the District Collector within 15 days of receiving the order.

The maximum number of voters per booth has been capped at 1,200. As part of this rationalisation, 501 new polling booths have been created. After completing all procedural formalities, the final electoral roll will be published on February 21.
