New Delhi: Sources have reported Apple might be close to delivering long-delayed Siri upgrades, which it was first previewed at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Apple is now gearing up to introduce the first results of its latest partnership with Google as early as next month, with the Gemini-powered Siri features expected to debut in the upcoming iOS 26.4 beta. They are also preparing to now demonstrate the latest capabilities publicly, by marking its first visible outcome of Apple’s first-ever decision to now rely on Google’s Gemini models for its upcoming AI features with Siri.
Apple is now just a month away from showing how the Gemini will change Siri, nearly two years after claiming a more capable, context-aware assistant. These upcoming features with Siri are expected to address some of the gaps that came after Apple Intelligence was introduced with limited functionality and multiple delays. This forthcoming iOS 26.4 beta update is expected to be the first release where Gemini is going to reshape Siri completely.
Those several features that are previewed in 2024 are now highly expected to arrive in this latest update, which includes:
- Personal context understanding
- On-screen awareness
- Actions inside the application
These features are stated to run on Apple Foundation Models version 10, a Gemini-based model with roughly 1.2 trillion parameters. While this version is not expected to be Apple’s most advanced AI system, it has been seen as the practical step toward shipping features that were previously held back due to some of the reliability issues. This upcoming phase is going to be powered by Apple Foundation Model version 11, which is described as being closer in capability to Gemini 3. It is also expected to integrate this latest Siri more tightly into the core applications rather than offering a separate chatbot experience across the Safari, Music, Health, or TV. Apple is expected to now preview its latest chatbot-style Siri at the upcoming WWDC, which is later this year, with the rollout tied to its next-generation operating systems and possibly latest hardware launches toward the end of 2026.
