Six-year-old dies weeks after woman’s suicide bid with children 

A six-year-old boy, who had been battling for life for more than two weeks after his mother reportedly jumped into a well with him and his sister following an alleged family dispute, died on Sunday (August 10) at the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital.

The alleged incident took place on June 25 at the woman’s parental home.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel, along with neighbours, had rescued the three and rushed them to hospital. The boy who sustained severe head injuries was in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the woman’s mother-in-law on a complaint by the former’s family. The woman and her daughter remain under treatment.
