Social activist Snehamayi Krishna was arrested by the Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police following a complaint filed by former MUDA Commissioner Natesh over alleged defamatory posts on social media.
According to police, an FIR was registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station after Krishna allegedly published objectionable and defamatory content online targeting the former official. The case has been booked under Sections 66C and 66D of the Information Technology Act, along with Sections 336 and 340 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Officials said the Central Crime Branch (CCB) had earlier issued a notice in connection with the case. Krishna was later taken into custody near a court premises and brought to the CCB office for questioning. Police are currently recording statements as part of the investigation.
Acting on a warrant, the CCB team also conducted searches at two properties linked to Snehamayi Krishna in Mysuru. He was taken along during the searches. Authorities said inspections are underway at his Mysuru residence while questioning continues at the Bengaluru office as part of the ongoing probe.
