Software professional murdered by ex-husband in Vanasthalipuram

A 30-year-old software professional was murdered allegedly by her former husband at her residence in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Sunitha, while the suspect has been identified as Mahesh.

The incident was reported at around 12.15 p.m. at the victim’s fourth floor flat in an apartment in Green City Colony.

Preliminary probe suggested that Mahesh entered Sunitha’s house armed with two weapons, a knife and a sickle, and launched an attack on her, resulting in her death on the spot.

A police official from Vanasthalipuram said Sunitha divorced Mahesh in 2024 and had recently remarried. Investigators suspect that Mahesh bore a grudge against Sunitha due to personal disputes, which may have led to the attack.

Upon receiving information, Vanasthalipuram police rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation. Mahesh was taken into custody, though police are yet to formally announce his arrest.
