Leaks continue to swirl around ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, and one image is drawing particular attention. A newly surfaced visual allegedly shows Michael Mando’s Scorpion in full gear. While unverified leaks often circulate online, several sources claim this artwork is legitimate.

Merchandise artwork hints at final design

The image is not a still from the film. Instead, it appears to be promotional artwork created for merchandise. Studios has used this approach for years when preparing toys, packaging, and marketing material. These pieces sometimes look slightly unusual because they blend actor likenesses with stylized illustration.
Reports suggest the artwork is produced using digital tools, often combining photo editing and vector design to create a polished but flexible template. According to Comic Book Movie sorces , Marvel typically develops character designs based on an actor wearing the completed or nearly completed film costume, which are then used for merchandise and product packaging.

A grounded take on a classic villain

The suit shown in the leak looks more tactical than fan made. Mac Gargan appears to wear armored gear over ordinary clothing, suggesting a prototype rather than a fully developed supervillain outfit.

This grounded aesthetic fits the MCU’s approach to villains like Vulture and Mysterio, who used technology rather than supernatural abilities. Though Scorpion is one of Spider-Man’s earliest comic-book foes, he has often played a secondary role compared to icons like Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus.

Cast and release plans

The upcoming movie brings back Tom Holland as Peter Parker alongside familiar faces and new additions. Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan, along with Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Sadie Sink, among others.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton helms the project, with longtime franchise writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers handling the script. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
