Srikalahasti temple staff count the donations received in hundi on Tuesday
Tirupati: The world renowned Srikalahasti temple in Tirupati district registered its highest ever hundi collection of ₹2.6 crore as the counting exercise concluded on Tuesday.
Srikalahasteeswara Swamy Devasthanams executive officer BK Venkatesulu attributed the record Hundi collection to an unprecedented spike in pilgrim footfall to the temple in the recent times.Srikalahasti temple MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy asserted that several reforms brought to improve the pilgrim services were yielding great results, leading to a surge in hundi revenues at this ancient temple hailed as Dakshina Kashi.
He added that the temple revenues will be utilised to create even more amenities for the convenience of the visiting devotees.The ancient Srikalahasti temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and His divine consort Sri Gnana Prasoonambika Devi is the second most busiest shrine in terms of pilgrim footfall in Tirupati district and is second only to the iconic Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala.The Srikalahasti temple is well renowned for the Rahu-Ketu Sarpadosha Nivarana Puja and thousands of devotees from across the globe visit this temple, seeking solace and to ward off the ill effects in their individual zodiac constellation.
