Sri Brahmaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao on Monday planted a sapling as part of the ongoing plantation drive in the Srisailam temple town.

The temple management as part of the drive has proposed to plant 3,000 saplings by the end of the rainy season.

The management has prioritised divine trees, shade-giving trees, flower plants and decoration plants as part of the plantation drive, including 30% like ‘Bilva’, ‘Kadambam’, ‘Rudraksha’, amla, ‘raavi’, and ‘neem’.

Mr. Rao planted amla, kadambam, ‘tella maddi’ and other divine trees in the premises of Vibhudi matam. He directed the horticulture department officials to ensure that the planted saplings are taken care off and asked them to give them water regularly.
