The State Information Centre (SIC) in Hubballi has finally got a new mini bus and on Monday Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi symbolically handed over the vehicle to the Information Department.
Following a request by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Tata Motors has donated the 32-seater mini bus through Manickbag Automobiles Private Limited under its CSR funds.
Symbolically handing over the vehicle by giving the keys to the officials of Information Department in Hubballi, Mr. Joshi said that journalists from Hubballi had made a request for new vehicle for SIC on several occasions as the existing vehicle was old and frequently encountered problems.
Taking note of the same, a request was made to Tata Motors for providing a new vehicle under CSR funds. Now through Manickbag Tata Motors the vehicle has been delivered, he said adding that it would resolve the problems faced by the journalists in attending government programmes at various places in the district.
Director of Manickbag Automobilies Sarang Shah said that following the request by the Union Minister and the interest taken by the Deputy Commissioner, the vehicle had been provided. Mahesh Tenginakai, Arvind Bellad and M.R. Patil, MLAs, S.V. Sankanur, MLC, Divya Prabhu G.R.J., Deputy Commissioner, V.K. Singh, Plant Head of Tata Motors Body Solutions Ravi Kulkarni, HR Head, Gurunath Kadabur, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Suresh Hiremath, Information Assistant, senior journalists and others were present.
