The 11th State-level Quran Memorisation Talent competitions for boys and girls, organised by the United Forum for Qur’anic Studies (UFQS), concluded on Sunday, February 8.

Many children aged between 3 and 12 from across the State participated in these competitions, according to a press note. Winners received cash awards between ₹10,000 and ₹20,000.

UFQS chairman Mohammed Dawood said that at a time when corruption, immorality, and criminal tendencies are increasing in society, it is important for children to read scriptures, including the Qur’an, to shape them into ideal citizens with moral values and a sense of responsibility towards society. UFQS has been organising talent competitions for boys and girls for the past 10 years, he added.
