“I am very much alive, so please stop spreading fake videos,” she said, in an explanatory video. “Whatever happened, only we can truly understand,” she added.
When a customary ritual turned disastrous
The accident occurred on Tuesday around 5 p.m. at a Mahindra dealership in East Delhi’s Nirman Vihar.
According to Siasat Daily, Maani Pawar, a 29-year-old woman from Ghaziabad, had just purchased the brand-new Mahindra Thar Roxx, valued at approximately ₹27 lakh, with her husband Pradeep.
As part of a traditional “puja” ceremony inside the showroom, Maani was asked to roll the vehicle’s front tyre over a lemon, believed to ward off bad luck. However, as the ritual was underway, things went terribly wrong. The Thar suddenly surged forward, crashed through a glass wall, and dropped about 15 feet from the first floor to the ground.
High RPM and sheer bad luck
Describing the terrifying moment, Maani shared, “My family, along with the showroom salesman, was present inside the car at the time of the incident. The car was at high RPM, the salesman had already told us, [and it] suddenly accelerated and plunged down, overturning.”Miraculously, no one was seriously hurt. “Once the car fell, all three of us exited through the front door and none of us sustained any injuries,” she confirmed.
Earlier the Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Abhishek Dhania, confirmed that the medico‑legal case (MLC) was filed at about 6:08 p.m., after the vehicle and its occupants had been taken to hospital. He also said that, surprisingly, no formal complaint has been registered from either side, according to reports by the Siasat daily.
