The school had declare holiday on Monday and Tuesday
Thrissur: Govt UP school at Choondal near Kunnamkulam, Thrissur, had to declare a holiday at least for two days after a pack of stray dogs took shelter on its campus. The pack included a mother dog and six puppies.A dog bit a Class VII student a couple of days ago while he was going to school. The dog was found dead on the roadside, and subsequent tests proved that it was rabid.The mother dog had elivered in the school car shed, and it behaved aggressively towards strangers. The school authorities declared a holiday for the school on Monday and Tuesday. The panchayat authorities deployed dog catchers, who caught eight strays. However, the mother dog has not yet been caught. The PTA and the school principal agreed to reopen the school on Wednesday following assurances given by panchayat authorities.
