Student killed trying to retrieve hall ticket on highway

An 18-year-old PU student died on the spot after being hit by a vehicle while he was trying to retrieve his examination hall ticket that had blown onto the highway near Chigaralli Cross in Jewargi taluk of Kalaburagi district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Adarsh Madivalappa Gurshetty, a resident of Yadrami town.

According to the police, Adarsh travelled to Jewargi town along with his friends from Yadrami on Monday morning to appear for the II PU supplementary examination.

After completing the exam, the group was returning to Yadrami on a two-wheeler.

The students reportedly stopped the bike by the roadside near Chigaralli Cross on the national highway. During this time, Adarsh’s examination hall ticket was blown away by wind and it fell on the highway.

While trying to retrieve the hall ticket, Adarsh was hit by the vehicle. The impact was severe and he died on the spot.

A case has been registered at the Jewargi Police Station.
