Students’ dialogue hails UP’s growth

Lucknow: University students from across UP pledged to act as ‘Campus Brand Ambassadors’ to promote the state’s development initiatives and welfare schemes during the ‘UP Rise 2026: Samvad, Sankalp, Safalta’ programme held in the city on Wednesday.

Students from universities and colleges across UP discussed governance, employment opportunities, digital communication and youth participation in public outreach.Participants shared the view that UP’s development model had transformed in recent years with improved law and order, infrastructure, investment, industrial growth and employment opportunities.Students said UP’s expanding startup ecosystem and skill development initiatives created new opportunities for youth who, earlier, had to migrate for jobs.

Key focus was on growing role of social media in public communication.Students said digital platforms and social media influencers could disseminate authentic information, spreading awareness about govnt welfare schemes and encouraging positive social change. They also discussed continued relevance of traditional communication platforms such as radio.First-year MBBS student of a private university, Sonali Rajan, recounted how her mother donated a kidney to save her life and said it motivated her to pursue her goals with renewed determination.

She appreciated the state’s efforts towards women’s safety and said she uses social media regularly to spread awareness.LLB student at Lucknow University and social media influencer, Krishna Mishra, said state scholarship scheme had supported his education and urged greater awareness so that all eligible students could benefit.Participants said Mission Shakti, Drone Didi, Lakhpati Didi and women self-help groups contributed to women’s economic empowerment, particularly in rural areas.
