A sharp rise in tomato prices has been recorded at the Madanapalle market in Annamayya district over the past two days, with rates increasing by about ₹15 per kg.

On Monday (April 20, 2026), first-grade tomatoes were sold at ₹25 a kg and second-grade at ₹19 a kg. Compared to March, stock arrivals witnessed a gradual increase, reaching 205 metric tonnes in the Madanapalle market and over 300 tonnes across the Valmikipuram, Gurramkonda, and Kalakada markets in the surrounding mandals.
