Fans can anticipate a double dose of Suriya's cinematic magic. His upcoming film, 'Karuppu,' is slated for an April 2026 release, followed by 'Suriya46' approximately three to four months later, likely in July or August. This latter project, a love story with an age gap, features Mamitha Baiju and Raveena Tandon and is nearing completion.
Tamil star Suriya has multiple projects in his pipeline, including his next movie ‘Karuppu’ and another film tentatively named ‘Suriya46’ starring Mamitha Baiju and Raveena Tandon.
It seems that the fans are in for a treat as the latest reports suggest ‘Suriya46’ is likely to release in theatres a few months after the former.
‘Suriya46’ release timeline revealed
According to a report by News18, during a press conference of Vishwak Sen’s ‘Funky’ filmmaker Naga Vamsi shared that ‘Suriya 46’ will be released in 3-4 months after the movie ‘Karuppu’ releases. As Karuppa is expected to hit the big screens in April 2026, one can expect ‘Suriya 46’ to make its way in July or August.“Suriya46 will release in theatres 3 or 4 months after the release of Suriya’s Karuppu. We want to maintain a sufficient gap between the releases of Karuppu and Suriya46. Karuppu is likely to be released in April 2026, and we can expect Suriya46 either in July or August,” he said.
About ‘Suriya 46’
The film stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. Raveena Tandon plays a strong role. Radikaa Sarathkumar is also part of the cast.Naga Vamsi said, “The shoot is currently in its final stage, with only five working days left to wrap up.”
He also shared that the film is “a love story between individuals with a significant age gap.” There were talks that the film might be called ‘Vishwanathan and Sons’, but no title is confirmed yet.It has been announced that the film will be streaming on Netflix after its theatrical release.
Suriya’s upcoming film
Speaking about his upcoming film ‘Karuppu’. The first poster came out in June 2025. It showed Suriya in a strong and fierce look, standing in red smoke with a machete. The visuals hinted at power and darkness. Sharing the poster, Suriya wrote, “Here’s our #Karuppu for you..! Wishing you all happiness @RJ_Balaji.”Suriya was last seen in ‘Retro’, which received positive to mixed reactions upon its theatrical release.
