A dispute between two groups turned deadly in Haryana's Faridabad after a speeding SUV chased and mowed down a man. The police have registered two FIRs against members of both sides.
The police action came after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
The 17-second footage begins with a group of men, including the victim, running. Moments later, a Scorpio SUV enters the frame, appears to target the victim, and rams him before crashing into a brick wall.
Faridabad Police registered the FIRs late on Wednesday night based on complaints filed by both groups.
Officials said seven people have been named in the FIRs from the two sides, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and identify those responsible.
Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence, while further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
