A Syrian refugee has been found guilty of raping a 19-year-old woman inside a public toilet , near Bournemouth seafront , after allegedly luring her away from the beach on an e-bike ride following a night out.Mohammed Abdullah, 19, was convicted of rape and assault by penetration after a trial linked to the attack near Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier in Dorset.According to reports from The Sun, the teenager had been out drinking with a friend before becoming separated and walking home alone along the seafront during the early hours of July 6.Prosecutors said Abdullah, who had been with a group of friends, offered the woman a lift on his e-bike before taking her to portable toilets on the beachfront. The court heard the victim was locked inside a Portaloo where she was sexually assaulted and raped while trying to fight him off.Judge Robert Pawson remanded Abdullah in custody ahead of sentencing on July 3 and told him a prison sentence was “inevitable”.Addressing the defendant, the judge said he had deliberately taken advantage of the teenager after realising she was heavily intoxicated and vulnerable.Prosecutor Mark Eldridge told the court the woman had consumed a “fair amount to drink” during the night before heading toward the seafront alone.
He said the victim tried resisting the attack and later managed to flee barefoot before seeking help from members of the public. Witnesses described her as visibly distressed after the incident. The woman reportedly used a passerby’s phone to contact her mother before police were called.Abdullah, who arrived in the UK from Syria in 2023 under a family reunion scheme and was granted permanent leave to remain, denied the allegations during the trial and claimed the sexual encounter had been consensual. The jury found him guilty following the hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court.
