Students of schools run by the Greater Chennai Corporation recorded an overall pass percentage of 89% in the Class 10 public examination held in March 2026.

According to data from the Chennai Corporation’s Education Department, 6,271 of the 7,081 students who appeared for the examination cleared it. Of the 3,570 boys who appeared, 3,115 passed, registering a pass percentage of 87.25%. Among girls, 3,156 of the 3,511 students passed, recording a pass percentage of 89.88%.

A total of 81 high and higher secondary schools function under the Chennai Corporation’s Education Department.

As many as 22 Corporation schools recorded a 100% pass result. These included schools in Kaladipet, Ganesapuram, Pudupet, Washermenpet, Choolaimedu, Nungambakkam, Mylapore, Kodambakkam, T. Nagar, and Alandur.

The GCC data revealed that 13 students secured centum scores in individual subjects. Six students obtained full marks in science, five in social science, and one each in Tamil and mathematics.

In the overall score categories, 153 students secured between 451 and 500 marks, while 578 students scored between 401 and 450. Another 1,115 students secured marks between 351 and 400.
