External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that direct talks with Iran to restore shipping through the war-hit Strait of Hormuz have yielded results, stressing that direct engagement with Tehran is the most effective way to address the disruption. His remarks came after Iran allowed two Indian-flagged liquefied petroleum gas carriers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend.
In an interview with The Financial Times, Jaishankar said there was no "blanket arrangement" for Indian-flagged ships and that Iran had not received anything in exchange.
