Tamil Nadu election: Palaniswami accuses Sengottaiyan of being a ‘DMK spy’

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Saturday (April 18, 2026) launched a sharp attack on K.A. Sengottaiyan, accusing him of arrogance, disloyalty, and acting against party interests. He was campaigning for party candidate V.B. Prabhu in the Gobichettipalayam Assembly constituency.

Taking a dig at the former Minister in his home turf, from where he was elected eight times as an AIADMK candidate, Mr. Palaniswami alleged that the MLA had “treated the people of the constituency like slaves” and owed his electoral success to party functionaries and cadre, rather than personal merit.
