A 19-year-old girl allegedly killed her newborn after she gave birth inside a toilet of a factory of Foxconn, Apple’s iPhone assembler, in Bengaluru, NDTV reported.

The accused, identified as Renuka, is an employee at the Foxconn factory in Devanahalli. She delivered the baby inside the toilet, slit his throat, and dumped the body in a bag, said the report.

Investigators suspect the delivery was unplanned and sudden while she was using the toilet. The woman, who was unmarried, killed the baby fearing shame.

According to the NDTV report, the incident came to light when another employee went to use the washroom and discovered the mortal remains of the infant.

The police then rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection, suggesting the baby was killed immediately after birth.

Meanwhile, the woman is undergoing treatment at a hospital. A case has been registered into the matter.
