Teen dies after violent clash at juice centre in Mehdipatnam

A 16-year-old boy died following a violent altercation between workers at a juice centre in Mehdipatnam on the intevening night of Tuesday and Wednesday (April 7 and 8, 2026). The victim was identified as Gulrez.

The incident was reported between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. at Nice Juice Centre where an argument broke out between two workers and escalated into a physical fight.

According to Mehdipatnam Inspector S. Mallesh, the boy was attacked with a spatula spoon during the scuffle. Though there were no visible external injuries, the blow caused a brain haemorrhage, which subsequently led to cardiac arrest.

Gulrez was immediately shifted to a private hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

The Mehdipatnam police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events and identify the accused.
