A teenager was killed and five of his friends were injured when their car skidded and overturned after ramming the median at Rajendranagar in the early hours of Sunday (September 14, 2025).
The deceased was identified as Kabir, 19, a resident of Yakutpura, who died on the spot. The injured, Rabbani, 21, Md Ghouse, 19, Saber, 20, Faizan, 19, and Abdul Raheem, 17, also residents of Yakutpura, were rushed to a private hospital at Shamshabad.
The incident was reported around 3.20 a.m. near Temple Diversion, AG College, on NH 44 while the group was travelling from Shamshabad towards Aramgarh.
Rajendranagar Traffic Inspector Ch. Raju said that the vehicle lost control due to overspeeding, rammed the divider between the service road and the main carriageway, and toppled.
Preliminary investigation confirmed that the driver had not consumed alcohol but was not wearing a seat belt. A case was booked and a probe is on.
