Expressing deep grief over the incident, the lawyer for the alleged minor accused, Lal Singh Thakur, said that the accident was “traumatic" and said that the child should not have fled the scene.

However, Singh informed that the child’s entire family is cooperating with the court and an investigation is underway.

Dwarka Road Crash

A 23-year-old man lost his life in a road accident in Delhi earlier this month, involving an SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy. The vehicle collided with the victim’s motorcycle before crashing into a parked car.

The accident, which was caught on camera, happened earlier this month near Lal Bahadur Shastri College at Dwarka South police station on February 3. The teenager, who was driving the Scorpio, which belonged to his father, allegedly lacks a driving licence.

The biker, Sahil Dhaneshra, was found dead at the scene while the taxi driver, Ajit Singh, was taken to a hospital.

The accused teen was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to an Observation Home. However, he was granted bail to write his Class 10 board examinations.

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother has claimed that the 17-year-old was out with his sister on February 3 to shoot reels. “The speed at which the Scorpio was being driven is clearly visible in the reels. He (the accused) was driving in the wrong lane, came straight in front of a bus to perform a stunt to make fun reels," Sahi’s mother was quoted by news agency ANI.
