Teenage girl injured in sharp-weapon attack near Phaphamau

Prayagraj: A 17-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after she was allegedly attacked by a group of three unidentified miscreants with a sharp-edged weapon near Bela Kachar area under the limits of the Phaphamau police station on Monday evening.

She was admitted to SRN hospital for treatment.Family members told police that the victim was attacked by goons when she had gone to attend the call of nature. A senior cop said that medical report and investigations revealed that there was no sexual assault and the miscreants only attacked the girl.He added three police teams have been formed to ensure the arrest of miscreants. The victim told police that she had a verbal spat with the miscreants before she was attacked.
