Telangana government extends road maintenance period to 10 years under Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme

Telangana Government has raised the period of the city road maintenance under the Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme (CRMP) from five years to 10 years in the second phase, for which tender notification has been issued on Monday.

Tenders have been called for ‘Comprehensive Road Maintenance Plan for maintenance of main roads (BT & CC Roads covered in Phase-I, additional CC Roads not covered in Phase-I using conventional method and additional BT Roads not covered in Phase-I using FDR Technology) in CURE area (CMC, GHMC & MMC) under Comprehensive Road Maintenance Contract (CRMC) for 10 Years’, on the e-procurement platform of the Telangana government. Bids have to be submitted by June 29.

The successful bidding agency is responsible for road construction, maintenance, stabilisation and re-carpeting of required stretches, and mechanical road sweeping. The internal benchmark price has been fixed at ₹2,152.66 crore.

The State government recently sanctioned ₹3,145 crore for the second phase of CRMP which includes maintenance of 1,045 kilometres of road length in the Core Urban Region.
