HYDERABAD: Telangana high court on Friday disposed of a petition filed challenging the action of the Nirmal district administration, alleging that they were violating the HC orders by calling MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to opt for any of the municipalities, as per their choice, to vote as an ex officio member of the respective municipality.Justice NV Shravan Kumar disposed of the petition after the state assured that they would strictly follow the procedure laid down by the division bench of the HC in relation to the composition of ex officio members of a municipality and their participation in the election of the chairman and vice-chairman of municipalities.Petitioner Kathi Narender contended that the collector and other officers were violating orders by calling the MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to opt for any of the municipalities, as per their choice, to vote as an ex officio member of the respective municipality. Additional advocate general T Rajanikanth Reddy informed the bench that the plea was premature and that the petitioner approached court on apprehensions, without any circular from the govt.
