The re-release trend in Tamil cinema has grown significantly in the last few years. Last year, actor Vijay's re-released film 'Ghilli' crossed the Rs. 50 crore mark at the box office, restoring faith in Tamil cinema's low-grossing films.
Its success has greatly increased the expectations of fans for re-releases.
In this context, the announcement of the re-release of the film 'Kushi' has created great interest among fans, and the film is slated to hit big screens again on Sep 25.
Success of 'Ghilli' inspires AM Rathnam
The 'Kushi' re-release was spearheaded by A.M. Rathnam. He has re-entered film production after seeing the success of the 'Ghilli' re-release. The film '7G Rainbow Colony 2,' which he is currently producing, was also based on the profits made from the re-release of 'Ghilli'.
Following this, to fulfill the demand of Vijay's fans, 'Kushi' has made a plan to re-release the film.
Vijay-Jyotika’s film returns with updated visuals
Directed by SJ Suryah, 'Kushi' is a 2000 romantic film featuring Vijay and Jyotika in the lead roles. 25 years after its release, the film is set to be re-released on September 25th, with new technical changes and updated visuals. This re-release is expected to be well-received by the fans, just like 'Ghilli'.
