Tiger Woods is not done yet, four months after his seventh back surgery, the 15 time major winner has made it clear that The Masters is still possible. When he was asked if playing at Augusta National in April is off the table, Tiger Woods gave a short but strong answer.

He said, “No.” That one word changed the mood around his future. Many people feared he might never return after another back procedure in October and a torn Achilles last March. He is now 50 years old. His body has been through years of pain and recovery. Still, he says he is back to hitting full golf shots. Tiger Woods last played an official event at The Open Championship in 2024 at Royal Troon. Since then, fans have waited for clear news.

Now, they finally have hope.

Tiger Woods opens up about The Masters return and Ryder Cup captain role after back surgery

Tiger Woods spoke honestly about what his body feels like right now. He said, “I’m trying, put it that way. The disc replacement has been one thing. I’ve had a fused back and now a disc replacement, so it’s challenging.”He also shared how turning 50 has made him think about the future. “And now I entered a new decade, so that number is starting to sink in and has us thinking about the opportunity to be able to play in a cart,” he said.

However, he made it clear that he would not use a cart on the PGA Tour. “That’s something that, as I said, I won’t do out here on this tour because I don’t believe in it. But on the Champions Tour, that’s certainly that opportunity.”Tiger Woods has won The Masters five times at Augusta National. His last green jacket came in 2019. That history is why even a small hint from him matters so much.At the same time, another big topic came up. The Ryder Cup in 2027 will take place in Ireland.

Tiger Woods has been asked about becoming Team USA captain. He said, “Yeah, they have asked me for my input on it, and I haven’t made my decision yet.”He explained that his time is limited right now. “I’m trying to figure out what we’re trying to do with our tour. That’s been driving me hours upon hours every day and trying to figure out if I can actually do our team, our Team USA, and our players and everyone that’s going to be involved in the Ryder Cup, if I can do it justice with my time.”For now, nothing is confirmed. But the fact that Tiger Woods is hitting full shots and not closing the door on The Masters is enough to lift excitement. Augusta in April suddenly feels very real again.
