Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will meet Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The game will be broadcast live on FOX at 4:25 p.m.

ET. The matchup comes with high drama. Patrick Mahomes is chasing revenge after last season’s Super Bowl LVIII loss to the Eagles and a shaky season-opening defeat in São Paulo. Hurts is aiming for his third straight win over Mahomes and the Chiefs. Adding more attention, Tom Brady will be in the booth for FOX, calling the game after a rocky first year as a broadcaster.

Tom Brady takes spotlight after “Philly” slip

Tom Brady has not had the smoothest move from the field to the booth.

In January 2025, during FOX’s coverage of the NFC Wild Card game between the Eagles and the Green Bay Packers, Brady made a mistake that went viral.

While breaking down a play, he said, “I like this call by the Phillies… excuse me, by Philly.” The slip occurred and resulted in laughter and criticism, especially from Eagles fans. During the same broadcast, Brady also confused Green Bay's Josh Jacobs, calling him by the wrong name, referring to retired Giants running back Brandon Jacobs instead.

Both errors resulted in questions regarding if the seven-time Super Bowl champion was ready for TV.

Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts bring intensity

Patrick Mahomes enters this game with pressure. The Chiefs lost 21-6 to the Washington Commanders in Week 1, where Mahomes struggled to find rhythm. He now faces an Eagles team that has beaten Kansas City in two straight meetings. Jalen Hurts, who led Philadelphia to the Super Bowl victory last February in Las Vegas, is looking to extend that streak. Hurts said earlier this week that his focus is only on “winning each game one at a time.”With Brady on the mic, Mahomes chasing payback, and Hurts aiming for another statement win, Sunday’s clash is set to be one of the most talked-about games of the season.
