Track modernisation work being executed on Howrah-Chennai mainline
Bhubaneswar: Safety-related modernisation work on the Chennai–Howrah mainline between Ganjam and Jhadupudi under Khurda Road railway division and Waltair division will slow down train movement through the section, affecting some services, including Bhubaneswar–Bengaluru Prasanthi Express.The work will be carried out on five days between Feb 15 and Feb 28. KSR Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar Prasanthi Express (18464) will be rescheduled by two hours from KSR Bengaluru on Feb 17, 21, 24 and 28. Some local passenger trains will be partially cancelled during the period.Bhubaneswar–Berhampur MEMU (68411) will be short-terminated at Chatrapur on four days between Feb 15 and Feb 25. Berhampur–Bhubaneswar MEMU (68412) will short-originate from Chatrapur on four days between Feb 15 and Feb 25.Visakhapatnam–Kirandul passenger will be short-terminated at Dantewada from Feb 16 to Feb 27. Kirandul–Visakhapatnam passenger will short-originate from Dantewada from Feb 17 to Feb 28.Trains and its speed will be regulated at different places in that section due to the modernisation work of ECoR, official sources said. “Passengers are advised to take note of these changes and plan their journeys accordingly. Updated information will also be available through official railway enquiry systems,” an East Coast Railway (ECoR) statement said.
