The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced diversions in the Dhoolpet area to manage the sale, purchase and transportation of Ganesh idols. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. on August 23 to 10 p.m. on August 27.
As per the advisory, traffic will not be allowed between Bhoiguda Kaman and Gandhi statue during this period. Vehicles carrying Ganesh idols must enter from Gandhi statue or Puranapul and exit through Bhoiguda Kaman crossroads.
Traffic from Gandhi statue and Puranapul towards Mangalhat will be diverted through Takkarwadi T-Junction, Jinsi Chowrahi and Ghode Ki Khabar. Vehicles from Seetarambagh heading to Mangalhat or Puranapul will be diverted at Bhoiguda Kaman crossroads towards Karwan road via Puranapul x road and Gandhi statue, or through Aghapura, Darussalam and Alaska towards MJ Bridge, Jummerath Bazar and Puranapul.
Meanwhile, traffic from Darussalam intending to reach Puranapul via Mangalhat will also be diverted at Bhoiguda Kaman towards Aghapura, Ghode Ki Khabar, Jinsi Chowrahi, Takkarwadi T-junction and Jummerath Bazar.
Lorries and DCM vehicles carrying idols must be parked at Jummerath Bazar ground and will be allowed to move after 10 p.m. Alternatively, they can be parked on the 100-feet road, Puranapul. In case of heavy rain, vehicles will be lined up from MJ Bridge towards Jummerath Bazar road in a single line-up to the designated parking area.
The police have urged citizens to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly.
