The Hyderabad traffic police on Wednesday (May 27, 2026) issued a traffic advisory ahead of Bakrid festivities and large-scale goat and sheep sales expected on Wednesday and Thursday (May 27 and 28, 2026) warning commuters of heavy congestion along the Tolichowki, Nanal Nagar, Rethibowli and Attapur stretches.
According to the advisory, congestion is expected on both sides of the Tolichowki-Nanal Nagar-Rethibowli road stretch as well as the Rethibowli to Attapur route from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m..
Motorists travelling from Raidurgam and Gachibowli towards Mehdipatnam have been advised to use Film Nagar road through the Shaikpet underpass and Brindavan Colony road after the Shaikpet flyover ramp as alternative routes.
Traffic coming from Lakdikapul towards Raidurgam and Gachibowli has been advised to take a diversion at Masab Tank junction via Banjara Hills. Vehicles travelling from Mehdipatnam towards Raidurgam and Gachibowli will be diverted at Nanal Nagar towards Langer Houz and the Narsingi road.
Commuters travelling from Masab Tank towards Attapur have been advised to use the PVNR Expressway route near pillar numbers 2 and 3 via Meraj Cafe and Gudimalkapur.
The police also advised private travel buses to avoid the Mehdipatnam-Tolichowki route during night hours and instead use the Outer Ring Road.
Citizens have been urged to follow updates issued by Hyderabad traffic police on social media and cooperate with traffic personnel during the festival period.
