Train services disrupted as boulders fall on railway track between Yedakumari and Shirabagilu stations

After boulders fell on the railway track between Yedakumari and Shirabagilu railway stations, services of three trains were disrupted on Saturday (June 21, 2025) morning.

The Bengaluru-Kannur Express train (16511) has been stopped at Kadagaravalli. Bengaluru-Murudeshwara Express (16585) and Vijayapura – Mangaluru Central (07377) have been stopped at Sakaleshpur.

Boulders fell on the track around 4.23 a.m on Saturday, forcing the authorities to regulate the trains, said a communique from the South Western Railway.

The officers have made arrangements for drinking water, breakfast and snacks for the passengers stranded, the communique added.
