Training on land acquisition best practices in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: A five-day training programme for personnel from the revenue department and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is being conducted in Gandhinagar on the theme “Avoiding Costly Mistakes in Land Acquisition,” govt said on Thursday. A total of 34 officials from the state revenue department and NHAI are taking part in the workshop, which is being held from May 18 to 22. According to an official statement, the programme covers topics such as procedural compliance under the RFCTLARR Act, 2013, strategic planning of detailed project reports (DPRs), use of satellite-based geospatial technology in planning the land acquisition process, and training on determining market value and avoiding errors while preparing compensation awards. Additional chief secretary (ACS), revenue, Jayanti Ravi stressed the need for accuracy and strict adherence to legal provisions in land acquisition to minimize administrative delays, avoid expensive legal disputes, and ensure fair rehabilitation for affected citizens.
