Strong earthquake tremors were felt across Delhi NCR, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir after a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Afghanistan. Initial reports indicate that the tremors, which occurred around 9:42, impacted several parts of northwestern India. While the national capital region experienced mild shaking, the impact was reportedly stronger in Jammu and Kashmir, including Udhampur and the valley, as well as in Chandigarh. The earthquake, originally measured at 5.1, was later confirmed to be 5.9 on the Richter scale with its epicentre located close to Afghanistan.
