Tributes paid to 40 CRPF martyrs of Pulwama attack

Buxar: Ex-servicemen and local residents gathered at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Kawaldah Park in Buxar on Saturday, and paid tributes to the 40 CRPF jawans martyred in the Pulwama attack that occurred on Feb 14 in 2019.Observing the day as a black day, participants tied black bands, observed a two-minute silence and pledged to uphold national unity and integrity. The tribute meeting was led by Ranjan Rai, former CRPF jawan and president of Buxar Warriors. A large number of ex-servicemen, youths and city residents attended the programme.Ram Nath Singh, president of the Ex-Servicemen Association, said the country lost 40 brave sons in the Pulwama attack, whose sacrifice will always be remembered.

He said their martyrdom remains a lasting source of inspiration and urged citizens to place national interest above everything else. He also appealed to the youth to embrace patriotism and discipline.Rai said various initiatives are being organised not only to honour the martyrs but also to motivate young people. As part of the programme, a marathon was held at Sipahi Ghat in the afternoon. The first prize was Rs10,000, the second Rs5,000 and the third Rs1,000.

He also announced the launch of the “Buxar Warrior Academy” app to help youth prepare for recruitment in the armed forces and other security services. The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the country’s security and honour.
