A three-member gang was arrested by the Jeedimetla police in connection with a house burglary case. The police recovered ₹2.15 lakh in cash along with stolen mobile phones from them.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Asif, Md. Asif, and Mohammed Ameer were arrested during a vehicle check at Shapurnagar ‘X’ Road, when they were attempting to dispose of a stolen mobile phone. Upon failing to produce ownership documents, they were detained and later confessed to the crime during interrogation.

The case came into light following a complaint by Nelage Sangamesh, owner of a milk booth on July 3. According to the complainant, ₹3.5 lakh in cash and a mobile phone had been stolen from his residence in Apuroopa Colony, S R Naik Nagar while he was at his mother-in-law’s residence in Muthangi. The break-in came to light after his daughter spotted an unknown man leaving the house late at night.

Investigations revealed that the main accused, Mohammad Asif, who worked for the complainant, conspired with two accomplices, Md. Asif and Mohammed Ameer. The trio used a two-wheeler without a number plate to reach the house. While one entered the house, another stood guard outside. The suspects, said to be habitual drinkers and addicted to online betting, were aware of the victim’s routine and had planned the operation in advance. Further investigation is underway.
