Agartala: Tripura govt issued 18 letters of intent worth about Rs 11 crore at the Buyer-Seller Meet during the three-day Tripura Queen Pineapple Global Festival 2026 in Delhi.Agriculture minister Ratan Lal Nath said the festival’s second day drew policymakers, industry leaders, buyers, exporters and entrepreneurs, helping expand the market for the fruit.Union agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan attended the meeting and pointed to strong domestic and global opportunities, calling for stronger value chains, market linkages, processing, branding and exports to raise farmers’ income.The meet enabled direct interaction among 40 buyers from across India, producers, exporters, farmer producer organisations (FPOs) and entrepreneurs, resulting in 18 LoI and marking progress in the fruit’s commercial prospects. Nath said the outcome reflected growing industry confidence in quality and demand, opening new marketing avenues, higher farmer earnings and a stronger export ecosystem.CM Manik Saha said the festival showcased Tripura’s horticulture and built partnerships with national and international buyers.
