Agartala: The Tripura govt has decided to provide solar panels to consumers using less than 50 units of electricity in exchange for Rs 1000.Around 1.5 lakh families have been identified as eligible for the initiative.Power minister Ratan Lal Nath said the govt is offering subsidies of Rs 33,000 for a one kilowatt solar system, Rs 66,000 for a two kilowatt system, and Rs 85,800 for a three kilowatt system.Under the PM Suryaghar project, 11 megawatts of power has been added so far, with 17000 registrations and 3500 installations by families.The minister said Germany-based GIZ, in collaboration with TSECL, is conducting training sessions for officials, engineers and vendors on maintenance and repair of solar systems.
