US President Donald Trump described Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping as two of the world’s greatest leaders, praising their strength and character while adding a cinematic twist by suggesting Hollywood would struggle to find actors capable of portraying them.

In an Axios interview, Trump was asked to name the two leaders he admired most globally. He responded by naming Xi Jinping and PM Modi, offering unusually vivid praise for both.

“Modi is very good, great leader… tough cookie," Trump said, referring to the Indian Prime Minister. He went on to highlight PM Modi’s longevity in office and leadership style, portraying him as a rare figure in global politics.

“He’s been there for a long time. Very solid," Trump said, pointing to PM Modi’s more than a decade in power and India’s political stability under his leadership.

But it was Trump’s broader characterization that drew attention, as he shifted from geopolitics to Hollywood imagery.

“If you make a movie about them, you won’t find men in Hollywood," he said, suggesting that leaders like PM Modi and Xi Jinping possess qualities that are difficult to replicate or portray on screen.

Trump’s latest remarks came shortly after his meeting with PM Modi on the sidelines of the G7 summit, where he highlighted the close personal rapport between the two leaders.

During that interaction, Trump indicated that the US would stand by India if it faced external aggression, while PM Modi remained in office.

“If anybody attacks that man, we’re going to be there now. I think India plays a big role in everything. As long as he’s the leader," Trump said.
