TTP-affiliated militants on Monday carried out a deadly attack at a government office in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing a police constable and a private security guard, while several others were injured.
The assault took place at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Bannu, a key government facility that manages the registration and sensitive data of all Pakistani citizens.
During the attack, an intense gun battle broke out between the attackers and security forces, resulting in the deaths of police constable Rafiullah and security guard Gul Shah Noor, top intelligence sources told CNN-News18.

The sources added that groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), and Baloch insurgents are simultaneously active across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Their operations are stretching security forces thin and exposing gaps in Pakistan’s counter-terror framework.
“Repeated high-impact attacks on government facilities, including NADRA offices, police stations, and security convoys, show declining control of the state in semi-urban and rural areas. Frequent surprise attacks, insider facilitation, and delayed responses point to a collapse of local intelligence networks and poor inter-agency coordination," the sources added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the attack and expressed sorrow over the incident.
In a statement, Naqvi said that Guard Gul Shah Noor and Constable Rafiullah attained the highest honour of martyrdom in the line of duty. “By sacrificing their lives in the path of duty, both men have set a remarkable example of courage and dedication," he said
