A Bhopal court has rejected the plea for a second postmortem, citing a lack of jurisdiction to order the procedure at a medical facility in the national capital. However, the court partially allowed the application by directing the local police to ensure the victim's body is preserved at a sub-zero temperature. The authorities have been instructed to verify if other medical institutions in Madhya Pradesh possess the required deep-freeze facilities, as the local hospital currently lacks the capacity to store the body at the mandated minus eighty degrees. Meanwhile, the victim's parents have dug in their heels, refusing to conduct the final rites or cremate the mortal remains until justice is delivered. The primary accused, the victim's husband, continues to evade arrest and is currently on the run. Furthermore, the mother-in-law, who is also an accused, has not been apprehended and has applied for bail. The family is now contemplating approaching a higher court for further legal recourse regarding the postmortem.
