Two killed in scooter, bike head-on collision on AMB flyover in Gachibowli

HYDERABAD

Two persons were killed in a head-on collision on the AMB Flyover on Friday morning after a scooter travelling on the wrong side of the road crashed into an oncoming motorcycle.

The deceased were identified as Kethavath Vittal, 38, a private employee and Banoth Srikanth, 17, both from Patancheru, Sangareddy. Both the victims are natives or Shapur village of Vikarabad.

According to police, the accident was reported at around 7.25 a.m. when Vinod was travelling from Gachibowli towards Hafeezpet on his motorcycle. At the same time, a scooter carrying Srikanth and pillion rider Vittal was travelling from Hafeezpet towards Gachibowli on the wrong side of the flyover.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the two vehicles collided head-on, throwing the scooty rider and pillion onto the road. Srikanth and Vittal suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Vinod sustained minor injuries in the accident and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police reached the spot, and shifted the bodies for post-mortem. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
