A man was arrested at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) after security personnel found two live bullets in his luggage during screening on Tuesday (June 23, 2026).

The passenger, identified as K. Madhubabu, a resident of Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam, had travelled to Hyderabad on personal work and was preparing to board an IndiGo flight back home when the ammunition was discovered.

According to an official from the RGIA Outpost police, the two live rounds were found during a routine security check of his baggage. Upon being questioned, Madhubabu failed to produce any valid licence, authorisation or supporting documents permitting possession of the ammunition. He told the security personnel that he was unaware the bullets were present in his bag.

The airport security officials alerted the RGIA police, who took him into custody and seized the ammunition. The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
