A lorry driver was injured after two heavy vehicles collided following a tyre burst near Hayathnagar on Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway (NH- 65) in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to police, the accident was reported around 4 a.m. when a Rajasthan registered lorry, loaded with kirana goods, was travelling from Medchal towards Autonagar. As the vehicle reached Captain Cook restaurant, one of its tyres burst, causing the driver to lose control. The lorry rammed a road divider and came to a halt on the road.
Moments later, a tipper lorry coming from behind crashed into the stationary vehicle, leaving the cabin of the tipper crushed, and the driver, Naveen, injured and trapped inside the cabin.

Police and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and shifted him for treatment. The accident led to temporary traffic congestion on the highway, with police diverting vehicles through the service road before the site was cleared.
Further investigation is under way.
