Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will face off in an exhibition match on April 25 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, honoring the Rumble in the Jungle.

The long-rumoured exhibition between Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally has a date and location.

After Tyson previously suggested a March bout in Africa, the clash is now set for April 25 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger first reported the update, while Congo’s Vice Prime Minister Mobutu Nzanga Ngbangawe confirmed it on social media.

Mayweather had been in talks for a potential rematch with Manny Pacquiao on Netflix, but when negotiations stalled, the Tyson exhibition returned to the forefront.

A Meeting of Legends

At 59, Tyson remains one of boxing’s most feared former champions. “Iron Mike" finished his professional career 50-7 with 44 knockouts and became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at just 20.

Mayweather, 48, represents a different kind of dominance. “Money" retired officially at 50-0, winning world titles across five weight divisions and building a reputation as one of the sport’s greatest defensive tacticians.

Tyson’s Spotlight Moment

Tyson has stayed active in exhibitions, though his last outing raised eyebrows. In November 2024, he faced YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas. Despite a crowd of roughly 70,000 and huge pay-per-view numbers, Tyson struggled to land clean shots across eight rounds.

Still, his name carries weight and global intrigue.
