India on Alert Over Ebola Outbreaks, Bengaluru Patient Under Observation
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday said it is closely monitoring the Ebola situation following recent outbreaks in parts of Africa, even as one person with recent travel history from Uganda has been isolated in Bengaluru over suspected symptoms.
According to Health Ministry, the individual reported mild body ache and has been admitted to the state-run Epidemic Diseases Hospital for observation and evaluation. Officials said the person is otherwise healthy.
A sample has been sent to the National Institute of Virology for testing and results are awaited.
