UK police investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have appealed for witnesses to come forward as they continue to examine allegations linked to sexual misconduct and other claims involving the former prince.

Thames Valley Police said on Friday that their inquiry remains open to looking into a range of allegations, including a reported claim of sexual misconduct, as well as separate concerns about misconduct in public office.

The police said it is assessing all relevant information that has emerged, including material linked to the so-called Epstein files released in the United States.

The investigation centres on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who has been under scrutiny due to his past association with convicted US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Police said they have recently been in contact with the legal representative of a potential victim following reports that a woman was taken to Windsor in 2010 for what has been described as sexual purposes.

Officers stressed that their inquiry is not limited to one line of investigation. They said concerns remain that the public may believe they are only focused on allegations of misconduct in public office, when in fact multiple aspects are being examined.

The force also confirmed that discussions with the woman’s legal representative have taken place to ensure any potential complaint would be handled sensitively, with full respect for privacy and anonymity. It added that no formal complaint has yet been made by the individual concerned.

Police repeated their appeal for anyone with relevant information to contact them and assist with the investigation.

Mountbatten-Windsor was questioned by officers in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office during his time as a UK trade envoy between 2001 and 2011. He has denied all wrongdoing and has not been charged.

He was stripped of remaining royal titles by King Charles III in October following continued controversy linked to Epstein, who died in prison in 2019. He has also moved from Royal Lodge in Windsor to the King’s private Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
